I’m in the market for a small, hand held GPS, as an ice fishing tool/back-up and a hunting tool.

I’m not well versed on them, but hear Garmin is probably the field leader.

I don’t need one with all sorts of options, basic get me there, get me back, leave waypoints and trails, accept mapping/hunting application chip and decent on batteries.

    (anything else??)

    Any feedback/advice?

Hard to beat the garmin 62csx, or the 64.

I have the 64st. Bought my son the same.
Decent battery life, great mapping, neither have gotten lost yet.
Do some searching and you can get one for under $200.

With either the 64s or 64st, how detailed are the embedded maps?

Would I still want to buy a hunting app card to show local boundaries, property lines, etc.>?
