I’ve watched video above – seen a few YouTube videos . Looking for real life examples Mississippi River . Doesn’t look the gt54 transducer is very impressive.
March 21, 2023 at 5:24 pm #2190204Not the Mississippi but our muddy lake. Using a GT54. Those are Musky. Two Garmin 106SV pics and one HB Helix 10. The Garmin transducer is on my trolling motor and the Helix is linked to a 9 Mega on the transom.

It’s not…..no pictures but I have a helix mega si and gt54 Garmin on my dash…The gt54 si picture is probably even worse than my gen 1 hummingbird was and not even close to mega si
March 23, 2023 at 4:59 am #2190566Andy, it appears your on the 455 kHz frequency, change it to mega if you have atleast a Gen 2, if a Gen 1 then bump it to the 800khz.

Actually I have a G4 . Seems like I can’t get the fish to pop in mega . Do you have any screen shots or settings maybe I should try it again ?

March 23, 2023 at 9:09 am #2190613I run 455 almost all the time also. Pretty pictures of the bottom does not put fish in the boat. Seeing fish easier and farther from the boat, in my opinion does. Flip it over to mega to see structure in more detail and that’s about it.
March 23, 2023 at 4:30 pm #2190816Yup, there’s a fairly significant difference between the GT34/54 and 36/56 transducer. I don’t have any screenshots but my GT36 is a huge improvement over what I used to see on the 54.
