Getting ready to store the boat. Was going to fill the tank 3/4 full next week and add a stabalizer. What are you guys using? I’ve done sea foam in the past.

No need to over complicate things. Just use the required amount of sta-bil and run it for a while.

You can use it in gas or diesel engines. I use it in every tank, my truck, weed eaters, boats, quads, chain saws all without a fuel related issue…

Lucas has come out with a marine specific fuel additive that looks promising.

Getting ready to put mine away soon also

What level of fuel in the tank is the best ?
If you use Premium fuel do you need a stabilizer ?

I have had mouse problems in the past so last year I used ” Fresh Cab ” in my boat
and I didn’t have any visitors. And they smell Good.

If you use ethanol free premium fuel, you don’t necessarily need to use a fuel stabilizer. If the fuel is going to sit there for a very long time (like a year or more), then you can add it.

    SEAFOAM X 5

Run it in your fuel at 2 oz per gallon before your last trip on the water.. They sell a spray that can be used to fog your system as well and easy to do. I have done this with my Yamaha since 2005 and she still runs great. I only shut my boat down for 2-2.5 months on an average year so skip fogging at times if the river is open and just keep running it in my fuel during the winter.

Last tank of the year gets filled with premium non oxy and every tank with Sta-bil marine formula. Been doing this for a long time and haven’t experienced any fuel issues.

SeaFoam is a great product, but if you’re running an evinrude etec it’s not recommend you use it. Apparently it’ll run too lean.

Seafoam, but I’d usually run the gas down near empty so I can have mainly fresh gas in the spring.

I have tried a lot of things, and with non-oxy plus Stabi, every spring my boat motor starts as if I just turned it off yesterday.

I have experienced the same results using Seafoam and Stabil for storage over the 25 years I have stored stuff. Never an issue. I do use non-oxy gas only.

Related question, value of running carb dry if gas has been treated?

On my 4hp it’s almost a must to run that puppy dry as the carb and hoses are tinny and it doesn’t take much to cause an issue. My 90hp doesn’t even have a way to shut off the gas to run it dry.

Non-oxy plus…. run it until at least January. Then take it out in March.
