Summer Fun on Otter Tail

Wow, August 1st already……but what a great summer it has been here at Vacationland on Otter Tail. Warm weather, good friends, new faces, lots of R&R, and the icing on the cake, great fishing.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, the trolling bite on OT can be awesome at times, and the past 3 weeks have for the most part been just that. A lot of our guests are just ‘giddy’ about the recent bite, not only for the quantity, but also quality. We aren’t seeing a lot of big fish yet, although there were 2-27″ eyes that hit the net during the last 2 weeks. Several nice stringers perfect for the grease bath, mixed in with some nice numbers of perch, have provided the perfect recipe for a fixating aroma floating amongst the confines of the resort…..and invites for the host are always a great bonus!!

Anyway, here’s a few pics of some of our guests this year enjoying not only great fishing, but the crystal-clear waters as well.

Now taking reservations for May, June & July 2011….

Here’s a couple photo’s from last week. Otter Tail ‘Rookie’ Dan Krukow and his family from Rochester enjoyed the trolling bite on OT, and Dan’s dad from Fergus Falls took big fish honor’s last week with this 25 1/4″ beauty…..

I’m guessing this won’t be Dan’s last trip to OT….

And from a OT rookie to a family that has been patronizing Vacationland for 40+ years, the VanDentop’s from Rock Valley, Iowa proved that you can even catch walleys on OT trolling in style on a pontoon….
