round lake

have you fishing at round lake it is north of grand rapid i went there once last july so we will be there opening weekend so i wonder anyone know about crappies there or any lake closer to round lake we would like to caught some slab crappies before opening

Round can be a great opening weekend lake. The walleye population has dropped slightly over the last two years, but there are fish to be caught. As for slab crappies, Red Lake is only 45 minutes North of there and the fishing that time of the year is excellent. But if your not willing to travel Winnie has some nice fish along with Little Ball Club, and Bowstring.
