I hear shiners are hard to come by up north this year! Im leaving Iowa on sunday and heading north for the week. Any advise on where to get some bait would be great! Thanks!

There was an article in the Mankato paper a couple of years back about a young man who you could order shiners from… “Tye’s Shiners”. I never used him but it sounded like you could call him and place orders. Here’s the number that I have for him… 612.386.8942. Good luck and let me know how/if it works out.

Try Fish Lake Bait in Harris, MN.

Todd always has a good selection of bait at a great price. They also carry a lot of tackle favorites for LOTW and Red Lake.

Was over to LOW a couple weeks ago and Lucky Bait had frozen shiners and live fatheads and rainbows. Live fatheads have outfished frozen shiners for us this year but haven’t tried rainbows.

Live fatheads or rainbows is all you will need. You can get both in baudette.
