Wigwam Resort’s Fishing Report for Lake of the Woods for July 23, 2012. The weather is still hot but we did get some much need rain yesterday. The walleye fishing is still very HOT too, lots of fish being caught everywhere from right in front of the Lighthouse Gap to the reefs and all points in between. The fish are biting on everything from, down rigging, pulling spinners with crawlers, and jigging with frozen shiners. I did hear that some very large fish were caught using jigs and leeches. Another big hatch of fish flies surfaced on Saturday driving the fish into a feeding frenzy again.
