How about the NBA contracts the T-Wolves. Poof they are gone! Glen Taylor can move the WNBA team (whats their name?) over to St. Paul. They city can blow up Target Center (thus saving the $150 million the Wolves want to renovate ) and build a parking ramp on the site for Target Field.

Short of the NBA putting in a franchise tag (like the NFL) they have no way to keep the bottom rung (Wolves) franchises viable.

The stars drive the NBA, NO stars will want to ever come here. Which is OK by me I guess.

    Any thoughts on the

    A) NBA

    B) Wolves

Hey, we’ll offer the Bucks also…wait, they may hurt your chances to sell. How about buy one get one free?

I’ve been very anti-NBA the last 5 years. I’m starting to come back around realizing that the Wolves have really made their own bed. If I lived in say San Antonio or LA or whereever good teams are today, I’d love the NBA.

The Wolves have been a franchise since I graduated from college. So I’ve lived in Twin Cities for every year of their existence. I was a season ticket holder for about 10 of those years.

The Wolves problems have been self-inflicted. In 22 or 23 years(?) the Wolves best draft choice was obviously Garnett. But Ray Allen was a close second. Problem was they wanted a point guard, so they opted for Marbury. Again, great player but wanted nothing to do with MN, or so we thought. He bounced from town to town before finally landing in NY and promptly getting benched and then traded from where he wanted to play. Bottom line was the guy was an idiot.
Then shortly afterward, they messed up Gugliotta’s deal and he left, and instead of Allen, Gugs, and Garnett, you just had KG. Until Kevin Love, this organization could not get any luck with the ping pong balls, could not make any good draft choices (JR Ryder, Luc Longley, Felton Spencer, Pooh Richardson, and on and on). They had three first round picks a couple years ago and none of them are playing!! I know Rubio is still a possibility but really.

I think the NBA has some issues and maybe they’ll clean them up, it’s not the game I grew up with in the 80’s. But at the end of the day, these are the best basketball players in the world and when they play, it’s fun to watch.

I personally think the NBA will address the fate of the “bottom teams” with the Collective Bargaining that happens this summer. Heck there might not even be a season next year.

There will probably be some type of hard salary cap to prevent teams from loading up and creating such an imbalance in the league.

I am a Wolves fan. I enjoy bringing my 5 year old son to the games. I would not want them to be contracted, but I do want a better run team.
Glen Taylor has shot himself in the foot too much like Cougareye mentioned.

I remaing hopeful things will improve for the Wolves!

I would go so far to argue they are the best athletes in the world. Yet, they just don’t put out much effort. So for me, the NBA could go away and I wouldn’t miss it a bit. I don’t recall that last time I watched more than a few minutes of a game.
