I’ve got a few leaking rivets in my old Crestliner. Is it a DIY project or is it something I should let someone else do and if so,who does these things in the Hastings/Red Wing area? Thanks.

How old is your C-liner. I thought they were only welded. No rivets.

If you’ve got a floor covering the culprits, it’s a pain in the a**.

If not, it’s a DIY. Get a buddy to ‘buck’ for you and go at it. If you’ve got a lot, get an air hammer with a bucking insert. If you KNOW it’s just a couple, then you can use a 3#er. The trick is getting it up where it’s convenient to work on.

If you don’t want to DIY, send me a note and I’ll hook you up with a couple of references in that area. Experience counts here. Don’t mess with anyone with less than 10 hulls under their belt.

I’ve done 40, but don’t do it anymore except for my own hulls. Wouldn’t let anyone else touch my own hulls…

    Good luck.
