G I understand where you are comming from. Lets put it this way. AP plays for the purple for 10 years. In those years you guys over look bar fights, drug addictions and multiple seasons that he doesn’t know if he can handle playing for your team because he is “tired”. After the 10 years he decides to retire and ends up with the Packers. That is how we see it. I’m noot loking to get anyone worked up with this opinion, it is just tha way Brett has done the true Packer fans.

Well, all I can say is “shame on you Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy”. It was not I, nor any other Packer fan that locked Brett out of the locker room nor escorted him off the premises.
If Brett wants to play, let him play-just really pains me and every other Packer fan to see him a purple uniform when he should have finished out his career in GB, as the Ron Wolfe era had promised him.
We Packer fans did not kick Brett to the curb, nor remove him from Green Bay—one day Ted Thompson will be gone and if his master plan falls apart and Brett has a great season–possible civil war in WI.
Being a diehard Favre fan and Packer fan, this will be a hard season. But, with my Dad being a season ticket holder for 51 years-the blood flows Green and Gold.
One day Ted Thompson will be gone and we will retire Brett’s number, til then-look out.

I just hope MN radio does not murder him too bad, they tend to eat their young.

He picked the “worst” best team to go to. Look at it from his perspective. He knows the plays, schema, coverages etc… He has more talent around him than he ever did in GB. All the guys that “know” football thought the Vikes were a solid team before he arrived. How can adding someone with his experience level be a bad thing?

Kooty you have got to be kidding me…LMAO More talent? I think you vike fans still have winning superbowl envy…

This is as good as MN radio, where they are already finding a place to keep the championship trophy. I get a big chuckle out of the MN faithful, just wait till the great white hope fails to deliver a miracle, then re-read your posts here before you start your bitc*’n. I’ve got 5 green and white #4 jerseys to be flown up the flag pole burning. I’m not one of those guys who want to see Bret hurt, not at all. I just think it’s really funny to read some of the posts and the chest beating and ignorant remarks, I spent most of my life in MN and that time spent just reinforced the reason why I choose to follow the Pack. They remind me of the Husker faithful!

Yes, I am envious the Pack won a super bowl in the modern era. I’m sorry I want the team I root for to win one.

Not sure what that has to do with the Vikes being very talented this year?? In my opinion, better than any given year the Pack fielded while “god” was in Green Bay.

Might be a dumb question… (I know, I know.. there are no dumb questions, just dumb people…)

But… How does the hall of fame work? Can Favre go into the hall of fame under any team he played for per his wishes, or is it based on the most seasons with a given team?

    ?????

Depending on how the HOF rules are setup, is this possibly the next media circus/controversy to keep him in the lime light after his final final retirement?

The 70’s are “modern” era to me. It’s the stuff back in 30’s – 60’s I have a hard time considering modern era. However, I think a very good argument could be made for the 60’s of course.

You gotta remember, I’m just a young buck compared to some of you old farts.

Yeah, because no cheesers here are doing the exact opposite promising doom and interceptions, you know, like you. Will you come back and revisit your remarks as well?

I’m exactly like big G here, nowhere do I promise doom! Show me where. I will on the otherhand promise an interception here and there, and sometimes in the same game. Now pass me some of that sour grape kool aid your drinking

But that would certainly be another thing he could waffle over…. More media circus to come! More worthless press conferences!!! Sweet!!!!

Believe me, I’m still disgusted that I’m excited about Brett Farve coming to “my” team. Chilli is reaching to heaven and praying every night, ‘dear lord, please let this old son of a gun make it through 17 weeks of football healthy!’.

Do I take a big swallow every once in a while and have dreams of grandeur. Sure. Do I think we will see Montana in KC all over again? Probably. Do I get a little bit of satisfaction knowing on Nov 1st, I get to watch 60,000 people squirm, yes.

Bet not many here would have predicted that ol’ #4 would ever get booed walking out of the tunnel in Lambeau.

Someone is going to light their Green Bay Favre jerseys on fire and run them up a flag pole? I call BS. Unless these are faded and worn I do not believe it. I’d be glad to view it on YouTube though.

Of course Favre will throw an INT. Show me a QB who doesn’t. I’m maybe missing the point but why are the basics even being discussed?

Who here HONESTLY thinks Favre doesn’t make the team better? Even if every play is a hand off Favre has that X factor.

Exactly Riveratt Favre single handedly, by signing…. made (if its even possible) Adrian Peterson a better back !!! Gotta keep an eye on Favre at all times… that’s one less on AP

Better then two average or worse QBs?

I think Favre could put the “gunslinger” on the side, and manage the game a little, stay off the injury list, and it may be alright.

For me though, it is simply that the Vikes actually made a decent trade. That does not happen in MN sports.

I heard someone cut down all the Brett Farve Pass signs last night in GB. Joke aside. Who wouldn’t shoot anyone for 12 million a year. I listened to his press conference last night. You have to like the guy’s attitude where ever he plays. My prediction for this year is he will have a built in excuse with his dinged rotator cuff that will be used early and often. The vikings have line issues on both sides of the ball. Good luck with that and a QB who looks like he is pulling a plow behind him when he runs.

So sorry, I’ll have to re-up my chitty vikes newsletter. I can’t wait for this season to start. I really like our defense….and the pack actually have some receivers.. Isn’t Darren Sharper still a viking? He had a wheelchair on the packer sideline his last year and he’s likely still the best guy on the vikings defense.

If GB is so smart to release all these “old” “worn out” players… and the Vikings can pick them up and be the reigning NFC North Champs… who’s the smart one then ??? We shall see again this year….

that’s a funny video, not for what is happening, but for what is being said in the background “gotta go poopie?” I will guarantee my wife won’t be in the background saying crap like that! My wife called and was looking for a new team, yes even she had been a purple follower, things were interesting at the house two times a year, now they won’t be so exciting Anyone have a team for her?

That… and watching how many times it takes a cheesehead to light a match… Wow… he is bitter… I could see a NY Jet fan wanting to burn the jersey he just bought last year, but this guy has issues. Get over it

Oh I know there are psychotic people out there willing to burn a perfectly good jersey that is worth money on ebay. I was more pointing my comments to Chomps who says he will burn his (or hers?). Maybe Chomps will but I kinda figured most here are bright enough to get some $$ back from their investment of a favorite player jersey. Maybe I over estimated?

Of course they are better. It doesn’t take much when you have a bottom 5 QB. That is why I think if they don’t go to the super bowl (and actually win it), then this pick up was a failure. Why?
    1. Team is loaded. Best running back in the league. Great defense.
    2. Queens have the second easiest schedule this year (Favre might be smarter than he looks. First the Pack in 07, the Jets last year, and the queens this year. I wonder if he will pull a “retirement” after this year and then join the team with the easiest schedule next year )
    3. All they need is someone to manage the game and turn around and hand the ball off. Plus put some fear into the D that the QB can throw the ball.
    4. If they don’t win the super bowl then they just set this team back a few years. This proves that Chilly realizes he made a mistake with TJack. He could have picked up some quality young QBs (no, not Sage) this offseason instead of sticking with TJack. After the Favre experiment, they will be back to the drawing board. But again, Chilly will get fired so that would be a success.

Number 3 is the big question. Can Favre go from the gunslinger to a game manager? I don’t think his ego will allow that. Plus I think he will get hurt (not hoping he does though). It doesn’t need to be a serious injury, just a bruised elbow or something. Once he is hurt or wore down, start planning on lots of turnovers.

We will just have to wait and see what happens. Should make for a fun year!
