Me and my family are looking for a small resort or cabin in the Hayward/ Rice Lake area of Wis. That is clean and affordable. We would prefer a two or three bedroom cabin. We are looking for a decent sized lake for fishing and boating.

We’ve stayed at Johnson’s resort on the Chippewa Flowage for more then 20 years. The cabins are always clean. They have an in ground pool for those that don’t want to swim in the lake and a very well run Lodge. Dart tournament one night a week so everybody gets to know each other. Pete and Barb are great owners and take great care of the resort.

My family and I have stayed at Treelands for quite a few years.

Paulski, have you been up to Treelands since the new owners? Just wondering if anything has changed? Nice resort also.

Balsam is a nice lake. Not familiar with any resorts on the lake. Paradise Supper Club is very nice. Kind of expensive. Walleye fishing is not great. No muskies. Pan fishing is good ice fishing. Close to Turtle Lake Casino if that trips your trigger.

We have been going to Treelands for some time, and to my knowledge it has been owned by the same family all those years. Perhaps you were thinking of another resort ?

I will be there in early August for our annual family vacation. It is a very nice resort with plenty of things for kids and adults to do…

I heard they sold it. Might be mistaken. I’ll have to investigate.
