I’m taking my 3 grandsons to Butternut Lake near Park Falls, Wisconsin next week to try for their first muskies. Any suggestions on lakes near there to try for panfish and other species?

Try the Phillips chain of lakes for panfish, Solberg, Sioux, Musser, Long, Wilson. You could also try the Flambeau Flowage for panfish… Also Gordon Lake north of Glidden is a fantastic Musky lake. If you want to drive a little further north there are plenty of lakes around Mellen to try, English Lake (Walleye & Crappies), Mineral Lake (Musky & Walleye), Potter Lake (panfish & Musky), Lake Galilee (Northern, Bass, Panfish), Caroline Lake (BIG Pike and Perch), plus a multitude of others… Hope this helps!

Thanks, we’ll try a couple of them. I’ve fished English a couple times in late fall for muskie but not for other species.
