For the last few years I have wanted a GOOD pair of prescription polarized sunglasses. I went to the eye lab and was quoted 480.00 for a glass pair of Costas W/580s and mirror glass. The Costas are good but 480.00 seems a lot for a pair of glasses.
Is the better pricing out there? or compairable brands?
Not exactly apples to apples but I recently wanted to try a pair of prescription Maui Jim’s and they were in the same price range as you were quoted. They can really bend you over because of the title prescription. Grab the ky and enjoy your new specs… Love mine. fwiw
If you didn’t need prescription, you can get pretty good deals on Costas on e-bay. Maybe you can find prescription ones on there, but I doubt it.
You don’t have any vision insurance, huh? Sometimes, they will cover some of it.
I’m dissapointed. My eye doctor told me that the 580’s weren’t available in prescription. I went with Maui Jims for $500 or so with insurance picking up about 40%.
