Ice on lakes week before opner.

    Fished a Vilas Co. lake on Fri. April 26th. Fishing was slow,talked to some other anglers and they weere having the same luck, found the fish in 8 to 11 foot of water couldn’t get any bites in the 13 to 15 depths. Weeds in both areas. Here is a picture of the ice thickness of the auger just before breaking through. Good luck on the opener next weekend.

    Walleye might be spawning under the ice this year. Its based on sun light as well as temp!
