Friday Nov. 29th….I drove by Shields Lake this evening and it was dark already but based on the moon light and my spot light it appeared that the ice was still intact. It’s still too thin to ice fish and gladly I did not see anyone out on the ice. It’s been blowing all day and forecasted to blow all night with wind gusts up to 50 mph. Cold temps are right around the corner for tonight and the next couple days. The ice should thicken up enough to fish on very soon……if the wind doesn’t blow it apart. For now I’d recommend people stay off the ice during a wind advisory on thin ice. You never know when or where it could open up leaving you stranded on thin ice…..or worse!!!
