Spent 12 hours on the pond in 3 footers yesterday, in spite of the front that went through the night before, I did quite well. Went out of Castaways and fished from 20′ into 10′, with 2 drift socks. Fish came anywhere from 19-15 feet. I used jumbo leeches on either a glow or a red hook on a 7′ snell. I could have quit at noon, but I gave a slot fish to two brave/crazy guys in a rental boat with a 9.9 on it, so I could continue fishing. Later I had to release another slot fish. The final tally was 6 fish under the slot, 6 in the slot and 8 over, with biggest a nice fat 23 incher. The water in 20′ was still only 50 degrees and in shallower was 55. I had hard time walking when I got out of the boat, and the bed felt like it was moving . I think the bite is only going to get better as things warm up. This is a terrific fishery!!
