Has anyone out there tied into a flaty a yet? If so how many feet of water? We went out and tried to drown some bullheads on Saturday night in pool 2 all we got was cold. Humminbird read the water at 63 degrees. Thought they’d be turning on by now.

That’s the temp on P4 as well. We were out Friday with the same results.
There were some folks catching on the MN River this last weekend.

I’m sure they are turned on, but my thoughts are you and I aren’t fishing in the right spots yet. They’re moving from the wintering holes to their spawning areas.

There were also a few 5 or so pounders caught on crawlers near the P4 dam this weekend reportedly.

Personally I haven’t had a reliable bite until the water hits 65 degrees and some years 70. The second week of May has been good to my boat twice in 9 years.

    Hang in there!

…Your best bet for the F-Heads mite be go Walleye fishing. I have caught more flats between 20 and 45lbs. this year than I ever have this early. And I get to eat walleyes to. ..BK remembers the 55lb cat I caught on a Half a crawler and 8th oz. jig. laugh smile … …rrr
