A buddy and I headed to our favorite Kokanee lake and had our first fish on within 5 minutes. A handful of doubles and a triple made for a fun morning. Guessing 30 fish to the boat by 10:30 a.m.

Nice job. And here I thought you figured out a way to get Kokanee beer from Canada!

April 30, 2020 at 4:14 pm #1939003Hitting it again tomorrow and hope for as good of a day as today. Since the season is just starting here, looking forward to a productive summer.
May 1, 2020 at 8:26 am #1939096Kokanee fishing is a blast! What did you catch them on? Dodgers and hoochies? Koke fishing was about the only highlight of my 2 year stint in CA. I really enjoyed trolling for those little silver bullets.
May 1, 2020 at 1:45 pm #1939181Looks like some good Koke candy there! Do you use a piece of corn on the hook too?
Here are some pictures with my favorite “go to” lures on Lake Pardee. They look similar to the one you’re using…….

May 1, 2020 at 3:26 pm #1939201Those are some good go to set ups. I use corn and garlic or garlic bloody tuna scent. I make almost all of my own stuff.
May 1, 2020 at 5:44 pm #1939233Another day of lights out catching. All of them seemed to be tail walkers today.

What’s your typical landing rate? I remember days where I lost many more than I got to the boat. When those buggers start leaping and freaking out at the back of the boat it’s a bit of a nail biter!
Fun times for sure. I always wanted to make it over to Flaming Gorge and never did. It would be a bit of a road trip now that I’m back in WI…….
May 1, 2020 at 6:41 pm #1939258to_setter, as you know, conventional thinking is to use a dual hook set up but since we release a lot of fish, I hate putting the fish through 2 hooks and only use one. So, I lose a few but catch rate is usually 80% or better. When you can catch 30 – 40 fish in a morning, loosing a few doesn’t hurt quite so bad.

the dried part is an inside joke between Dave and I for those who want to know.
I sent him several pounds of choke cherry that was greener than I thoughtMay 1, 2020 at 7:17 pm #1939270Never heard of them but looks like a lot of fun!
Like taking Crack. Adrenaline rush and addictive.

We have a trip planned for FG mid July looking for the big dogs late in the year meeting friends on the WY end. Any suggestions
The great BLMesa CO lake infested with gill lice. Have to find other fisheries for Kokanee
ThanksMay 5, 2020 at 8:43 am #1939911SD

ThanksWhat are your dates? We should be up there. You will likely be launching out of Buckboard Marina on the Wyoming side. You can catch fish from just outside the marina headed south to Breeze or Jap Island. Here’s my number, (916) 806-8348, will probably be fishing the same areas so will help if I can.
