Fenwick Aetos??

Have any of you ever tried these rods?? I am going to get a new pole and can’t decide on this or an avid

I assume you are probably talking open water?

I picked up an Aetos ice rod in December and liked it so much I just ordered another one. Haven’t touched a long rod yet but am a big fan of Fenwick (have around a dozen Techna AV’s) and their action and power. I certainly wouldn’t be afraid to try one.

I have a 6’6 med. and I like it, but for the price Id give the nod to the avid unless you are using it for cranks. I’ve noticed the fast action on the aetos is a bit slower than the st Croix fast actions.

I recently picked up one of the ice rods and really like it.

I am talking about open water and from what people have said it looks like the croix is the better bet.. if it is anything like the ultralight avid I have I will use it forever!!
