Fish Lake Pepin this last Saturday with very light winds and sunny skies. Started off at about 9:00am to 2:00pm trolling 8-13 fow by maple springs, Bogus Bay, Deer Island, and between the city of points of Lake City with only some stripers and a perch to show for it.

With the increased water clarity is fishing mid-day pretty much a waste of time? Fishing the lake this time of year a waste of time? Any suggestions would be great!

The only saving grace for the day was pitching jigs at PointNoPoint from 3:00pm to dark and catching about 30 really nice crappies and NO walleyes.

We were down last Friday and I thought the water clarity was horrible. We had a better bite durring the day and then things really slowed down as the sun set.

I think there will be a good daytime bite for the next month or so until the temps really drop and the water clears up.

If your not finding a DAY bite ,find a different area to fish!

    Perhaps further up stream
