Is there a good reason I cant musky fish in the winter? I release them anyways. Dumb law
Because musky populations in MN have been steadily dropping over the past 10 years. Also, musky fishing opportunities are decreasing at high rate.
I agree…
I have heard that musky flavored cut bait works well for flat heads….
Mike J hit it on the head. Greedy people ruined it for the rest.
how do u musky fish in the winter i catch all kinds of muskys while set up for northerns no rule against that so if u catch and release its legal anyway no need to have a season
as my homie 2pac shakur sayes ” THAT’S JUST THE WAY IT IS….SOME THINGS WILL NEVER CHANGE….CUZ THAT’S JUST THE WAY IT IS!! ” so follow the rules homie! haha

In the realm of dumb laws that ranks pretty low don’t you think?

The reason is because; people who were not “muskie fishermen” would catch and kill muskies in the winter so “muskie fishermen” got the rule changed so the season ends before ice fishing season begins.
