    Is there a good reason I cant musky fish in the winter? I release them anyways. Dumb law

    It’s because of the people who don’t release fish.

    Because musky populations in MN have been steadily dropping over the past 10 years. Also, musky fishing opportunities are decreasing at high rate.

    I have heard that musky flavored cut bait works well for flat heads….

    how do u musky fish in the winter i catch all kinds of muskys while set up for northerns no rule against that so if u catch and release its legal anyway no need to have a season

    The reason is because; people who were not “muskie fishermen” would catch and kill muskies in the winter so “muskie fishermen” got the rule changed so the season ends before ice fishing season begins.
