Finally bought a 4 stroke kicker! Had a couple questions though.
1.Does a 4 stroke need any special care in the winter?
    2. Is there anyway to save on the wear and tear on the motor in terms of when you have the big motor running at flank speed in rough water. Last motor i was using as a kicker broke bracket from all of the abuse it took.
    Thanks

Congrats on the Yamaha. I am sure you will be as pleased as I am. Did you get the T8 or another model? I ran my T8 through last winter without any problems at all. When I got the boat on the trailer I just lowered the motor to a level position and ran the motor for a few seconds to get the impeller to flush out any water left in it.
As for the bracket , I have had my motor on the back of a Tyee on Mille Lacs for a season and it has taken plenty of abuse from the waves. So far , so good.
