My 2000 135 Opti has never seen anything but Amsoil since I have owned it.

Don’t mean to hijack this thread but I have a Amsoil question.

    I have a 2005 E tech 50 hp tiller….and I have always run XD100 in it..but its almost $50.00 a gal.

I am a Amsoil preferred customer and can buy Amsoil HP for about 1/2 the price as Evinrude XD100

I was thinking about makeing the switch to Amsoil HP

Would anyone have any comments / good or bad / about switching ??

    Thanks,
    Mike

I understand what you are saying but what is the difference if the motor manufacturer does the same thing using there oil because it is the best. Hard to find unbiased tests results all I know is since I have switched to Amsoil HP I have not blown an engine. Before that I have had 4 engines blow due to oil issues usually sticking the ring from carbon build up.

    I mean no ill.
Just that there is bias in advertising.
Do your own independent oil analyst. I do.

Are we talking two stroke or four stroke here. yes, an oil analysis is cheap and easy on a fourstroke, but and engine teardown and measuring to see if a two stroke oil is doing it’s job is way to obsessive compulsive for me… I’ll wait for someone else to do it, potential bias or not.
