What is the average depth you have your transducer under the water line? I’m at 8 inches to shallow? I figure the more of the water column the better. I would like to cut the pole down as it is to high and in the way of casting. Thanks

As deep as whatever your boat hull drafts, so you can scan 360 degrees with out the signal being blocked by the hull.

Down far enough so it won’t come out of the water in mid size waves.

What Huntingdave said X 2!! Many times I’ve seen fish when turning it to the other side of the boat. I use LiveScope when I’m trolling a weed line to stay just outside the weed line. This means pointing under the boat at times.

Perfect explanation, just think of the transducer beam as a narrowly focused flashlight in the dark…
