Well my son might not shot the biggest but in his eyes it is a monster. This is his first bow kill and he couldn’t be happier, as well as I am for him. We got the whole hunt on film and we will be able to share it for years to come. Congrats to all that have made a good clean kill this season.

This year is my first year ever hunting deer. I have always wanted to do it and told myself if I did it would be with a bow first. Well after buying a bow from fellow IDA’er Slipsinker I was set up to finally get out there this season. Before last night I had been out maybe 15 time this year. I seen deer all but 2 times and was drawn back 2 different times but didn’t shoot because of small branches in my line of fire.

Last night my cousin Pete and I headed out with our bows for a fall turkey hunt and along came a nice doe that I couldn’t pass on. I shot her at 20 yards or so and she went down 30 yards from there. I had a great shot as she was slightly quartered away from me.

Now I’m hooked! I want that HUGE buck we saw while walking in to our turkey spot last night.

    Yummy Backstrap!

That’s a heck of a deal, Mike. I know I can spend more than that much on a single SPOOL of flurocarbon line these days.

What do you think, two weeks to walkable ice?
