December pool 6 Sturgeon

    My son caught this one on the Winona pool while catching a few perch and saugers in a backwater area. I had to use the net handle and hoop to take an estimated measurement and then measure the net when we got home but it was about 65″ long. Heck of a fight on a 6’6″ medium St. Croix Avid. That 6# Suffix 832 is strong stuff!!!

    That’s a heck of a fish to bring in with any type of rod used in fresh water!

    Nice job guys. Looks like that fish has a notable mark in case you catch it again.

    Could be anywhere from 75 to 55# IMO based on your photo and experience.
