Yesterday was the first day of this year that I’ve been able to get some whitebass on topwaters. Awesome spurt of action during the evening with the approaching thunderstorms. Fish are in post spawn pattern now.

Where about on the croix where you fishing? I was wanting to get out above the high bridge today and chase some around but weather kept me in. Maybe some night this week.
May 23, 2011 at 3:41 pm #968269I fished between Interstate Park and Franconia. I didn’t bother to check between Franconia and Osceola with the storm brewing. The fish are heading back downstream so I’ve heard some people going to Williams O’brien to Apple River. That stretch is too much gas for my heavy boat.
May 24, 2011 at 1:50 pm #968535Sure is a nice area up that way. If I do get out most of the time it is around Osceola and Franconia. Have had good luck in the past around the apple river. Lots of back waters to run down that way.
