We decided to hit Clear Lake for walleyes July 5 in the evening hoping the jet skis and power boats would be off the lake. Around 7:00pm they started heading off the lake. We opted to start off doing some trolling. We trolled past the marina and turned along to go along the island and son says “fish on”. Landed a 21″ walleye. Trolled to the point and turned around to hit the same spot. Got to the same spot and wife says “fish on”. Landed a 18″ walleye. We kept working that area with nothing else to bite, so we moved on around the island. Trolled a ways down past the island son caught a nice crappie, wife caught a yellow, then we caught a 16″ walleye and some under reg. walleyes. We turned around to go back over the same trail we made and caught nothing for a long stretch. By this time we was going over Dodge’s Point and it was 9:30pm. Wife says “fish on and it is a Good One”. She worked it a while when it just broke water just enought for us to see it wasn’t a walleye. I said, “Honey, you have a muskie on”. She played it for along time and we got it netted, measured, pics and then released. She ended up with a 40″ muskie She was shaking so hard and excited I am very proud of her
