Clam Plate vs K-DRILL

I have a question about the Clam Plate and was looking for some help. I’m wondering if you can use a Lazer hand auger bit or if you need to use the regular bit. I have both and was thinking of selling my hand and my electric Lazer, and a 8″ chipper bit for a K-Drill. Or, am I just as good off getting a Clam Plate and using a bit that I currently have? I was really leaning towards the K-DRILL……

I’ve been using the 6″ bit that comes with the Clam drill plate and Milwaukee fuel brushless hammer drill for 3 years now and have been very happy with it. I’m a guy that is always looking for the next best thing, but I haven’t seen a reason to change this setup. I change blades once a season.

You should actually use a converted hand drill,Lazer.Mora,Nils,K-Drill bit with a drill…
The gas bits are heavier and do not works as well……

I have a 6″ nils on a clam plate and it works good, but I think I prefer the cheaper/simpler Ice Master adapter.
