I’ll be heading up to Clam lake in Burnett county this weekend. Any tips on fishing there will be greatly appreciated.

Clam Lake

When I was a kid growing up and all the way through high school I was up there almost every weekend. The drinking age was 18 at that time, tom’s bar, pheasant inn, pour house. The lake is shallow as I remember, 6 – 8 feet mostly with a 10′ hole out from the island. Watch out around the narrows as that is open water. They used to host the world championship water skipping contest there. My uncles cabin was on Cumberland point road and when we did ice fish, we would be out in the middle of the lake out from Cumberland point. We would fish for sunfish and northern. That was over 35 years ago so things may have changed
