IDO’s own Brian K’s underwater catfish video footage is written about in the latest In Fisherman magazine. Dr Rob Neumann says “It’s some of the best underwater footage I’ve seen of freshwater fish in their natural environment during winter.” What a compliment! See pages 48-51. Congrat’s Brian!! I look forward to seeing more footage this winter.

As Brian can attest the secret to great pictures is in the control of the boat. That and knowing where to look for the fish.
Way cool Brian!!!December 9, 2010 at 9:21 pm #915845Obviously, they did not do a good background check-otherwise the nosewarmer and pink hat would have come into question (along with his tractor driving)!
Good job buddy!!!!!
December 9, 2010 at 9:46 pm #915859Congrats BK.
I’ve seen the footage and I do believe in this case, the honor is well deserved.
December 9, 2010 at 10:54 pm #915884Thanks guys!
The good videos are a team effort, it’s the only way it can be done.
Jason Balough
Jesse Krook
Stuart (the gps) Hanson
St Croixer (Jarret)
and even Pier Bridge (Gary) had a hand in the videos in one way or the other.Oh…almost forgot the best underwater camera maker in the world…Marcum!
December 9, 2010 at 11:47 pm #915909Congratulations Brian
Now tell us how much time it takes to make a 5 minute video.
December 10, 2010 at 12:52 am #915927Well that depends Twist.
If “gps head” Stuart is in the boat it could be as little as 30 minutes.
If left up to me, it will take 2-3 hours depending on what kind of fish we’re after.
It’s taken 3 years and we still don’t have a paddlefish on video that’s worth showing.
PS I hope you’re not counting editing time!
December 10, 2010 at 3:02 am #915971I would guess that editing time would put the variable over the top, I mean if it takes you 30 minutes the editing time would be almost nill compared to three hours of film.
BTW, I have never been down to Truman Reservior but from what I understand they get a pretty good run on the spoonbil below the dam. They come up from Lake of the Ozarks during the spring run. Like I said, although the fish are there I don’t know if you would be able to see anything in the water.
December 10, 2010 at 3:32 pm #916032Cool. I hear if you scuba down by the dam there are monsters big enough to eat folks down there.
