    As they get bigger.
    using the formula that Dtro provided.
    (Length X Length X Girth / 1275)

    Looking at the measurements of mine and Piers Fish.
    Very close in both catagories.

    LFC== 44 X 27 (longer) Chart wieght 41.00 Actual/tare for net. 39lbs

    Pier==42.5 X 28 (wider) Chart wieght 38.7 Actual/tare for net 42lbs

    Wondering about the est/tare wieght adjusting for the net?

    It would seem as the fish get on the larger side that the margin of error seems to increase minimally. Its still with in the 3lb parameters. Seems like a pretty solid formula to this point.

    Now I want to see it tested on a 50lb fish or bigger.
    Come On Mates!!!!! Let someone get a hog to test this further.

    It only makes sense the formula is going to be a hair off on large fish.. the girth is a huge factor.. some fish are fat at the belly, and thin at the tail, others are excessively chunky all he way down. These things can eat what.. 20%+ of their body weight in a day? That is going to provide any formula a margin of error right there.

    I think the formula is as good as it can be, and is very reliable.

    Another way to go with this is LXGXG/825.

    With the girth squared, it might be a little more reliable on the bigger fish. Works pretty good for the recent big fish caught.

    This might be a way to go once a fish hits a certain size.
    It will be interesting to find the switch over point as more fish are caught this season.
