Normally I run all Abu Garcia reels. I love them and have never had a problem with the reels themselves. I am having a problem finding them at the moment though. I bought several new poles and want to run the catfish special 7000. But the only ones I can find are marked way up. Does anyone have a comparable reel with atleast 20lbs of drag? Something in the $100-$200 range.

You should also try a spinning reel set up, they have worked the best for me on Red River Channel Cats, a Okuma large baitfeeder reel works really good, beter imo then a traditional clicker. Do not know if they are available but the garcia 7000 is my go to baitcaster for cats
In that price range and style of reel I would recommend a Penn Squall 20
