I really took a liking to cat fishing last year and was hoping to get any advice or tips anyone is willing to offer. I don’t get out in the boat as often as I’d like so I fish from shore quite a bit down on the La Crosse river.
Thanks in advance

The LAX river has alway fascinated me for cats – it’s the perfect habitat…How did you do last year?
My advice is to fish somewhere else theres no cats in the La Crosse
We didnt do to bad last year. We were either on cats and nothing else all day…or all rough fish and no cats. I dont mind though, I enjoy catching anything.
Other than a few times fishing trout, I had never straighline bottom fished before last year and I really enjoy it now.

He’s right….no sense in even trying especially if he wanted fiddlers for the pan …
But if a guy REALLY wanted to try, he could fish a couple of the canoe landings or even float down in a canoe and hit the bends….
Just stay outta my SECRET spot
Goose Island can be great also for the shore fisherman looking for some whiskered actioned!!!!
Flatheads or Channels
