In the last week, we have caught 5 flatheads over 20 lbs using circle hooks and bullheads. Best times seem to be early morning (from 3 am to 7 am) My fishin partner lost 2 fish on his 30 lb spider wire……. Pics comin soon!

    Congrats Black Cat,

Have you found the rising water to be a problem? I went out for the first time last night. Pretty quiet, but it was the first time for the spot I went to. Are you in big timber snags? I have found about 3-7′ of water to be best. Thoughts on the rising water?

    Thanks

thanks for the tip blackcat. I want to catch a flathead this year so bad. At least I know how to do it, now I have to get the job done.

The rising water seems to have helped my fishing. This morning we landed a 34 inch and a 30 inch. Some people say to fish far up in the smallest feeder creeks when the water is high like this, but i find myself catchin’ fish right downstream of the outlet.
