Brule Backwaters is low!!!

    Tried to get my boat into the Brule backwaters and was surprised to see that the ramp was still high and dry Last year at this time there was plenty of water.

    Talked to the MI DNR and they seemed to think that the resovoir was still filling from the winter drawdown. I also heard a rumor that WE Energies was doing some work on the dam.

    hope it fills up soon.

    I contacte WE Energies and the resovoir was drawn down to address seepage through the Brule dyke. Repairs are scheduled this June. Water may drop further depending on the type of repair that is done.
