Heading to Gull for the long 4th weekend and the following week. Bringing the kids so I am looking for numbers and action. This is the only time of year I fish the lake and don’t know it very well.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

    Thanks.

A few years ago we had some good luck on Gull trolling shallow cranks over weed beds and along the edges of weedbeds at night. Bent lip raps and thin fins were hot for us. During the day we ran live bait off the edges of the weeds in 12-16 FOW. I think we were there at the end of Aug. so I hope this can help you out.

Like said above shallow cranks over shallow weed flats at night put many eyes (and rock bass) in my boat a couple weeks ago. I primarily fished the north end. Good luck

Though I haven’t fished gull myself, I’d suggest stopping in at Sportland bait on 371, Jason I know fishes it a lot and can probably give you some good ideas, he may even pop into the thread. They do a nice job, we stop in there on our the way to Crosslake, much nicer shop than crosslake has.
