Big Creek Crappies 11/5/2006

What a day on the water! Gorgeous weather, cooperative fish, who could ask for more! I hit the water at 7:00am this morning and headed for the Lost Lake area of BC. To say the crappies were biting is an understatement. I tied on my favorite crappie rig, two 1/16 oz jigs in tandem about 14 inches apart with 1 1/2″ chartruese sliders. First cast, a double, two 8″ crappies. Didn’t miss until cast 39, sounds unbelieveable but it’s true! I have never seen so many crappies concentrated in one spot in my life. I have been fishing BC for 30 years and I have never seen this before. I fished for 6 hours and the fish never slowed down! I must have caught 200 crappies. I ended up cleaning about 40 and we had them for dinner. Great day on the water.

Nice job Zamer. Thanks for the report. Any of them better than 8″?? Sounds like it could be awesome next year.

There were a few 9″ but not many. I think the next couple of years will be good.
