Is there a worse investment

I’ve been looking at a ton of ATV’s & sleds for the last month, trying to educate myself on the used market. One very consistent theme I’ve seen so far. It appears investing into a new sled is worse than buying a new car. It looks like you lose $2-3k instantly, then another $2-3k over the first 3 years of it’s life. Then, when values reach that $2500.00 mark, they seem to hold steady for as many as 10 or more years, depending on the condition of course.

Now with ATV’s, it seems to be just the opposite. You take an initial hit off the lot, but not more than $1500 in that first year. Then, the market quickly evens out and holds steady in that $5k range. Again, nice stuff and pure junk in this price range.

Has this market been this way historically?? I assume to some extent in the recent years given the lack of snow and the ability to use an ATV year round.
