Apostle island fishing

    I’m looking to fish the apostle islands this year for the first time. For a green horn, what time of year would be the easiest to get on multiple species without using down riggers? I would like to target smallies,trout and walleye.
    I would appreciate any input.

    Early spring just after ice out… Everything should be fairly shallow making all three species easier to target.
