Spent the day on the water with a tournament sponsor and his friend. We found quality saugers in 15 to 22 feet of water. Holding Prescott Bait Company mini flukes 6″ off the bottom on a 1/4 oz jig produced all but one keeper. .3 to.5 mph drifts were key. Keep it slow and vertical and you will catch fish. Chartreuse and oystershell mini flukes worked best. Orange and purple also put fish in the boat.

We had over 3 legal limits of sauges over 15″, although not that many went homme.

Just lately we’ve been hearing great reports on the purple flukes.

I spotted you on the beach on Friday I think… we were on a mission and didn’t have time to stop.

    Thanks for sharing Marshall.

Yep, I figured as much. I saw you had the boss with, and figured she had you on a mission. Catch you next time.
