I’ve got an opportunity to buy a 36V Vantage at a great price…but does it make sense on my boat? I’ve got a Terrova up front with spot lock as well.

I’ve typically only seen Vantages on tillers but if it can come in handy on my boat Id like to hear your thoughts.

No Vantage it is. Yes I’ve a 36V Terrova, 2 trolling in back with starter battery…another batter up front. It’s got room for 4.

I have a kicker bracket on the back side. I would vote for a kicker over a vantage.
But as for that motor. Mine is awesome. I have 0 regrets with having that force. Up front I have a motorguide xi5 24 v that does great. But a 36 v would be even better

I have a tiller and am seriously considering taking my vantage off. It always was a prehistoric beast right from the start.

What size motor is on yours ? I have a 75 and can push 31 mph with 3 guys. But it’s rated for a 115. And that thing would be a rocket. When I re power it will be a 4 stroke 115 yamaha

I’ve got the 120hp…it scoots across the water but not sure on speed. Never really open it up.

Motor has been solid…replaced throttle cable and its even better now. I’ve also thought of about putting a 4 stroke on it but I’ll wait until it’s necessary.

Same. 31 and can kiss 32 with my 75. That’s plenty for me. How many batteries do you have up front ? And how many in the rear. I have my 2 up front for 24v and 2 in the rear for a ” large ” 12 v for starter and both hds 12 and 9

I’ve got one battery in front bow compartment and two more in a rear compartment. The starter battery is behind the snap in compartment in back…I’m thinking of removing the 2 from the rear compartment and putting them next 2 the starter to balance the boat out.

I removed a bad kicker since installing batteries so she is a bit keeled to driver side. Not bad with wife and son in boat.

I cannot find a decent long shaft to replace my kicker.

I’m with BC…I would opt for a gas kicker over the Vantage. It will do everything a Vantage will do, and provides you an alternate gas engine to get back to the dock in case your big motor goes Boom.
