I have a drill auger setup that I have been using for the past few winters. I use the batteries all year round between drilling ice holes, impact, leaf blower, string trimmer, circular saw, sawzall. Currently have two 5ah Milwaukee batteries that still work but seem to run out of juice pretty fast. Obviously the IDO answer is bigger is better right? Does anyone have the big 12 ah battery and if so does it throw off the balance of some of these tools? Not sure if I should just go with a couple more 5ah or 6ah instead of the big 12ah.

Main reason I ask is since I found this deal at home depot. Figure I could buy it and sell the new 5ah batteries on marketplace and have the 12 ah for a decent price.

The 12ah battery adds some weight, but not to the point where it feels off balance.
Fleet Farm has the 5.0 ah batteries 2 for $199 for black friday, plus a free $10 gift card.November 14, 2022 at 8:32 pm #2159363I have 2 4ah, 2 8ah and 1 12ah Milwaukee batteries. I mainly only use the 12 in the chainsaw. The 4s I use in drills. I find myself using the 8s in the sawzall, string trimmer, pole saw, and ice auger. The 12 is a little bulky but for the most part the 8s are my go to because they are light and large capacity.
November 14, 2022 at 9:02 pm #2159371I am not sure what I all have…I’d have to look to be certain. I think 5 or 6 5ah, 1 8ah, and probably 4 or 5 2ah batteries.
The 8ah is a happy medium. That with a full charge and a 5ah on backup in my sled has always been more than enough for an outing. The 12ah is nice I’m sure, but for the cost I’d rather have multiple smaller batteries to spread our amongst my tool collection to minimize swapping.

November 15, 2022 at 12:04 pm #2159468the 3,6,8,and 12 will output more power into your “fuel” tools. I think the 8 is the sweet spot.
November 15, 2022 at 12:06 pm #2159469That is a great deal on 2 5 Ah and 12ah. Normally the 12ah is around 229.00 by itself, and the 2 pack of the 5ah for around 219.00 or so once in awhile. I see they also have 2 5ah batteries and a duel charger for 199.00 also a great deal. Wish I could find a deal on a 2 pack of the 8Ah batteries.
November 15, 2022 at 12:28 pm #2159473I use the 12’s on auger and leaf blower and weed whip. Lasts 3 times longer then the 9’s I have. Thet are a bit heavier but dont have to drag 4 extras with.
