Hi all, Was finally able to get back down to Red Wing on Fri, an excellent day to be off work and on the water. Sun, warm temps, and fish what could be better than that. did not get on the water til 1:30p, Vermilion area had about 15 boats and the dam area had about 20. not really very crowded at all, ( I know Sat and Sun will be a whole diff story). No minnows today, haven’t really used any for the last month. Plastics were working just great. SuperDoos and Ringworms did the trick. generally 20-30 feet, about 1/2 and 1/2 legal to smaller fish. Plenty of action, and no big fish. Did not get down to town at all. Did stick around for the evening bite, for less than an hour picked up 9 fish on the shallow water Kalin bite. Hope everyone had a chance to get out this week. LOOKS like WE DID finally get an INDIAN SUMMER. We will take whatever we can get this time of year. Jack…

    Hey Jack,
Did pool 4 today, Saturday. The bite was pretty much like yours yesterday. Beeeautiful day, and steady fish on the line. The two of us put about 60-70 fish in the boat, all on plastics. The Kalin blue pearl S/P was key today. They were really snappin’ that tail. Many short bites, as they would take the tails off the Kalin. We fished the Vermillion area most of the morning, about 15 boats there, then moved down to Hay Creek, and that was even better for bigger fish, nothing big but still real steady bite, many in the 15 to 17 inch range. Mostly sauger, but quite a few eyes mixed in.

What a day to be out……..WOW!!
