I fished the Pool 2 airport area with a friend this morning/early afternoon and did pretty well. What a beautiful day to be on the water. We caught a couple dozen walleyes in the 14″ range but only one decent one at about 20″. We also had about 9 saugers in the 17″ – 19″ range, the largest at 19.5″. My friend had a channel cat that went 28″. We were generally fishing in the channel in about 20′ – 23′ of water with a jig and minnow, whistler jig, or jig and plastic. I didn’t find a strong color preference.
I did see one exceptionally nice walleye get caught. I’m sure he’ll post the photo.
