Thru Hull Ducer Hole

My fiberglass boat had a 1” thru hull transducer that started to break and let water in the hull. I ended up popping it out because it was too far gone to just 3M around. Any ideas on how to plug that hole so it’s somewhat flush beyond having someone fiberglass it?

Stainless steel hole plug might do it.

Are you saying there is a hole through the hull for a transducer?

Through hull t-ducer shoots through the hull – no hole.

If you have a hole in a fiberglass boat, I’d take it to a fiberglass repair shop and have them fix the hole with a fiberglass patch up.

Yeah it’s a hole straight through. Stupid idea. Could do the stainless plug. Probably smart to take care of it right like Jon mentioned.

Make sure a plug is flanged and pushed in through the outside. Ideally it would be flanged on both sides and sealed so it can’t fall out.

Maybe something like this gooped up with silicone? Might be too short though.

3M 5200 Marine Sealant Adhesive applied properly will hold anything in place. Just be certain you will never want to remove it. 4200 would probably be sufficient if there is a chance it may be removed the future.
