Standby generator install cost

I am looking at having a standby generator installed. Does anyone have a rough idea on what install costs run in the metro area?

I am not in the metro area but have a pretty good idea depending on what you want. If you want a simple plug with breakers to manually switch over this can be done for arround $500.00 – $750.00. If you want something fancier then the cost goes up I will attach a generlink system. These install really easily and give youy up to 40 amps at 240 volts and run about $1200.00-$1600.00 Installed but you have to be sure the device is approved for use thru your utility company. Now if you want to go hole house with a generator that is interconnected with a automatic transfer switch and exercises each week you can spend between 12k and 15K for a 8-12KW set up and more if you want 20K plus.
