Have a 2020 competitor 165 with a 90hp yamaha sho, have noticed that when I have the motor off my rpm Gauge does not rest at 0, turn the key and it drops down to 0 before starting. Anyone else notice this? Thanks

Probably normal. Many cars do the same thing.

Thanks for the replies, I’ve heard some boats used to show the hours on the engine via the rpm gauge while off, is that still a thing?

It was on start up the gauge would show hours x100. My Suzuki did that.
