Took the long and very unneeded walk out to chester woods on sun. We went down the southeast arm and started to drill holes in and around the timber. Found just about every tree had fish but not all of them held hungery fish. Finally went to a tree I had success at last year and found more fish that were willing to bite. We were in 22 feet of water and the fish seemed to be anywhere from 6′ down, 12-14′ down and 5′ on down to the bottom. Waxies were the only real bait producing as minners only coughed up one sunny. Crappies and sunnies were caugh, not one bass. There also seemed to be no consistant time of day for the bites. This will be the last time I fish chester in the winter unless the park plows roads or let’s up use snowmobiles or 4-wheelers on the lake, the walk was just plain ridiculous.
