    There are a few lakes that have a lower minimum for pure strains if I’m not mistaken. Every lake I fish pure strain muskie for has a 54 inch minimum. For years the minimum for pure strains was 40, then it went to 48, and a few years ago it went to 54.

    I believe the only lakes with lower minimums are lakes with shoepac not the Leech Lake or Mississippi strain. Shoepac do not get very big. I think they rarely get 40″

    Ha! My son was on there quite a few years ago with a 16″ crappie. Its a fun little contest.
